Fumble, not touchdown, lingers with McGahee
Willis McGahee scored the only touchdown in the Ravens’ 10-9 season-opening win against the New York Jets Monday night, but the running back stewed about a fumble, his only miscue of the game.
McGahee was stripped of the football by former Ravens and current Jets linebacker [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] in the first quarter, ending a promising drive at New York’s 20-yard line. After the game,
McGahee apologized on his Twitter account (23McGahee), writing, “Mybad about the fumble……..”
McGahee said Wednesday that he had to get it off his chest.
“I just felt like the fumble ruined my day,” he said. “Even though we did win, it just didn’t feel right.”
McGahee said the fumble will bother him until Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
“It’s probably going to stay with me until the next game,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych],” he said. “That’s just how I am. I really don’t get many carries, so I have to take advantage of the ones I do get, and I fumbled. So I’ve got to do better.”
