The receiver, who was suspended by the league for the first four games of the season, has made a noticeable impact since his return -- no more obvious than on that fourth-quarter play which put the Jets in position to win. He said his role in the offense is a "work in progress," but that he's building trust with quarterback Mark Sanchez.
"Being a third-down guy is definitely something I take a lot of pride in," [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] said. "I've been doing it since my days at Ohio State. ... I came to the NFL; I was constantly moving the chains for the Pittsburgh Steelers. And with the opportunity that’s being presented to me with the New York Jets and Mark Sanchez throwing me the ball, I'm definitely going to try to do the same thing to help us win ball games."
"He did grab my face mask," said [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], who was the target on fourth-and-6 late in the fourth quarter with the game on the line. "I think I would have come back to the ball and made a big play on it, and maybe even scored. But all of those things happen for a reason, and fortunately the official was right there to make a great call."
Today, [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] watched film of the Jets' 24-20 win over the Broncos. He didn't have any doubt yesterday, and he was just as sure today, that the game-changing defensive pass interference penalty on Denver safety Renaldo Hill was legitimate.
[link widoczny dla zalogowanych] said the bye week actually comes at a good time for him, because he can regroup after his first two games with the Jets.
Sanchez looked for him on the pivotal fourth down and on three third downs -- plus another third down nullified by an offensive pass interference call on [link widoczny dla zalogowanych].

"It gives me an opportunity to feel the first two games out, and allow my body to go through the bumps and bruises," [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] said. "And now I can heal to prepare myself for 13 more games,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], or however many it's going to take us to get to our destination."
[link widoczny dla zalogowanych] said he told offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer on the sidelines at Denver, "I want the ball in my hands." He said Schottenheimer looked him "dead in my eyes" and said, "I know; I'm going to give you the ball."
"I want to give him the confidence that he can make any throw available to me," [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] said. "That I’m going to make a play for him."
