Adrian Wilson Jersey Anchors Cardinals Opening Weekend Win
It wasn’t pretty, far from it. But when the final second ticked off the clock during Sunday’s game between the Arizona Cardinals and St. Louis Rams, the Cards had secured an opening weekend win, 17-13. The offense struggled throughout, but three big plays from Pro Bowler Adrian Wilson Jersey kept things in check. Adrian Wilson Jersey picked off rookie quarterback Sam Bradford twice, as well as blocked a FG attempt on special teams. Very impressive. It will be tougher next week when the Cardinals travel to Atlanta to face a Falcons team eager to get in the win column.
Adrian Wilson Jerseyjoined XTRA 910 in Phoenix to talk about Sunday’s game, the play of the defense, his interceptions of Bradford,NHL Jerseys, his blocked field goal, how he thought Derek Anderson played, and what the team needs to improve upon before next week.
On how he thought the Cardinals played on Sunday, particularly on defense:
“I mean we won. That’s the most important thing first and foremost. We can definitely play better, but defensively we let some balls get out. They had a 46-yarder, they had a 30-yarder with an 8-yard route that turned into a 30-yard completion. So that’s 76 yards of passing yardage right there that we could have taken off the board. So, we had some things coverage-wise that I know we didn’t bring that well, but I thought the defensive line played well, pressured the quarterback pretty good, and really enabled us to play coverage back on the back end.”
On the defensive line’s ability to create pressure without having to blitz:
“Yeah, obviously that’s what we really want to do – we want to create pressure with our front-four and be able to play coverage. That’s something we’ve been trying to do for the past couple of years, and you know, our guys they’ve got to stay healthy, they’ve got to stay fresh. That’s the most important thing – guys have got to stay fresh and healthy in order for us to have success on defense and along the defensive line. So the rotation with those guys coming in, even those guys rotating in – they did a pretty good job for us.” |
