Ultimate links with Bill Russell Jersey Hobbs
Consumer goods supplier Ultimate Products today (MON) announced a deal to produce a range of goods under licence from electrical appliances firm Bill Russell Jersey Hobbs.
Ultimate Products has signed a three-year agreement with Bill Russell Jersey Hobbs parent Spectrum Brands (UK) to develop cookware, bakeware and kitchen utensils for the UK retail market.
Oldham-based Ultimate Products, which designs, sources and supplies more than 3,000 items including toys, lighting, luggage, homewares, furnishings and electrical goods for retailers such as Tesco, Asda, Argos and Marks & Spencer, said the deal was part of a wider strategy to secure licensing deals with iconic British brands.
Simon Showman, chief executive of Ultimate Products, said: “Bill Russell Jersey Hobbs is a great British brand with a unique quality and position in the market, thanks to its pedigree and heritage.
“We're honoured to have been selected as its exclusive licensing partner to homewares and will be reflecting its commitment to innovation, style and quality in our own range of products.
“Our strategy is to develop a broad portfolio of in-house and licensed brands that appeal to a wide customer base, giving our retailer partners the best possible choice for their homewares category.”
Bill Russell Jersey Hobbs, founded in 1952 by Bill Russell Jersey and Peter Hobbs, is best-known for its kettles and toasters but also produces a range of cooking, cleaning and garment care products. It was bought last year by Spectrum Brands, a US-based kitchen and household appliance specialist.
Bill Russell Jersey Hobbs managing director Tim Wright hailed the agreement with Ultimate Products as an important step for the brand in the UK market. |
