Rajon Rondo Jersey back at (22-)point guard
INDIANAPOLIS — After initially being ruled out of action for the second straight game because of a jammed right pinkie, Rajon Rondo Jersey [stats] last night talked his way into the lineup before the Celtics [team stats]’ 107-100 loss to the Indiana Pacers.
The result was a 22-point, 9-for-13, eight-assist effort. The 20-plus scoring performance was the point guard’s first since Feb. 6, when he put up 26 in a win against the Orlando Magic.
This might just be a sign that the scoring part of Rajon Rondo Jersey’s game, a negligible element over the last month, is making a return.
“He came in and said I feel great — my hand feels great, the swelling is all gone,” coach Doc Rivers said. “He said, ‘I know you want to sit me one more game but I don’t know what the difference would be,’ and he’s right. Eddie (Lacerte, the trainer) agreed.
“He attacked and his speed was a factor. We haven’t seen that in a while. It’s amazing when he does that what it does to our offense. It’s pretty good.”
The difference, according to Rajon Rondo Jersey, was in his grip.
“Being able to catch the ball,” Rajon Rondo Jersey said of the difference between last night and Sunday, when he missed a win against the Minnesota Timberwolves. “I hit it a couple of times but it didn’t affect me to the point where I didn’t think I couldn’t function.”
Century mark
The Celtics scored 100 points for the first time in 11 games.
The last 100-plus performance came on March 9, in a 108-103 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers, which begs the question: Just how important is a 100-point game under these conditions?
Not all that important, according to Rajon Rondo Jersey.
“It’s frustrating just losing,” he said. “We scored 100 points. It just seems that we have a lot of fourth-quarter woes. We scored 100, but we shot 4-for-12 in the fourth.
“It’s hard, whether you score 60 points or 100 points, if you don’t do the job in the fourth quarter you’re going to lose the game. The past couple of years we’ve had a couple of plays we can call, and we’re a little out of place.”
JO: ‘I’m ready’
Jermaine O’Neal, after three weeks of two-a-day workouts and one-on-one basketball in Chicago with a trainer, rejoined the Celtics.
The center will run through his first practice with the team tomorrow in San Antonio since having left knee surgery on Feb. 4, and he has an especially ambitious goal: He wants to play in Thursday night’s game against the Spurs |
